About

Florida Hospital Celebration Health - The Right Healthcare Partner for the Town of Celebration

Established in 1997, Florida Hospital Celebration Health (FHCH) answered the call as the health cornerstone in the development of Disney's planned community, Celebration. A whole lot more than an ordinary hospital, the Mediterranean resort-style facility is part of the seven-facility Florida Hospital, which itself is part of a network of 17 hospitals comprising the Adventist Health System-Florida Division.

When the Disney Corporation decided to construct a "new town" located near its Disney World complex, it sought proposals for the construction and management of a hospital as part of that community. Florida Hospital won the competition. From its earliest stages of planning, the new hospital was envisioned as a "state-of-the-art" physical environment that would promote healing. It incorporated architectural components that were considered at that time to be cutting-edge, including the extensive use of natural light and gardens; patient rooms and other spaces that were designed to encourage family involvement; artwork; and sound management techniques. The idea was to create a welcoming, as opposed to intimidating, environment for patients and families.

At present, the hospital has about 112 beds in operation, and has been at capacity for some time. The hospital intends to expand to reach about 350 beds by 2015. In addition to the usual range of services, FHCH has a Cancer Institute, a Nicholson Center for Sugical Advancement, a very large and active Lifestyle Enhancement Center, a Pain Center, Global Robotics Institue, 60,000 square foot Fitness Centre, and state-of-the-art imaging services.

Celebration Health serves as a model for future facilities.
Built on four major purposes, Celebration Health has become a global healthcare leader, providing continuously innovative, thoughtfully designed healthcare in a comprehensive facility that contains programs and services that serve as a model for future facilities across the country and around the globe.
