What to expect
Patients are scheduled for 30 minute office visits during which an instant finger-stick cholesterol panel, glucose and liver function test is obtained as well as an assessment of therapy. Our clinical pharmacists may initiate and adjust prescription FDA-approved cholesterol medications on behalf of the patient's enrolling physician as part of a collaborative-practice agreement. Patients leave each visit with instant test results, medication changes if necessary and next scheduled follow-up appointment. An official report with patient's test results, assessment of medication therapy and changes made to medication therapy is faxed to the patient's physician within 48 hours.
