Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally Invasive Surgery

Renowned for its leadership in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and robotic surgery, Florida Hospital Celebration Health continues to redefine the very concept of surgery. Highly invasive open surgeries - the standard procedure over the last century or so - are rapidly giving way to entirely new ways to perform surgery that increase precision, reduce the time required for surgery and puts you on the road to recovery more quickly.

Laparoscopic Procedures

Thanks to laparoscopic surgical devices and remotely controlled instrumentation, surgeons are able to make several small incisions instead of the large ones required in the past to access the surgical environment. Using fiber optic cameras and miniaturized instruments, surgeons are able to perform highly complex surgeries with tremendous precision.

When the surgery is complete, the incisions can usually be closed with just a stitch or two. As a result, the patient can recover in days rather than weeks, with far less pain and less chance of complications or infections.

Florida Hospital Celebration Health is fortunate to have some of the most respected surgical experts in the country who are not only pioneering new MIS techniques, but teaching them to other surgeons worldwide. Their expertise extends into many surgical arenas, including orthopaedics, GYN, cancer, prostate, hernia and spine procedures, bariatrics, colorectal and, of course, general surgery.

Robotics

One of the most exciting advances in surgery is robotics. At the Global Robotics Institute surgeons are using state-of-the-art robotics to conduct surgeries that have greatly improved patient outcomes.

The multi-specialty teams of urologic, gynecologic, colorectal and cardiac surgeons are conducting minimally invasive surgeries using highly advanced robotic surgical tools such as the da Vinci® robotic system, which is used to conduct radical prostatectomies as well as kidney surgery.

The Global Robotics Institute has also been a pioneer in the development of minimally invasive surgical techniques for hysterectomies as well. Gynecologic oncologists at the institute believe that it is one of the most effective alternative treatments for early stage cervical and uterine cancers.

As a leading research and surgical medical center, Florida Hospital Celebration Health continues to invest heavily in new minimally invasive and robotic surgery innovations so that you have access to the most advanced treatments and therapies available in the world.
